Worship Assistants Always Needed!
Especially: Assisting Ministers...
With the departure of our treasured Lisa Wackler, we need more congregants to regularly serve as Assisting Minister. We are working on instructions for this role. Please reach out to Caitlin Thistle at newman.caitlin.09@gmail.com if you're interested in this role.
People of St. Paul's, you know our vision that each member of St. Paul's assists with worship one Sunday per month or more. If you have not yet started volunteering once a month, please reach out to Caitlin with your potential role of interest.
We have simple and straightforward written directions for worship and use a system whereby Caitlin proactively signs up congregants to assist with worship each month and then the
participants can change dates/times as needed. We have a solid roster and are looking to expand!

FUNERAL PLANNING GUIDE
One of the most difficult experiences that anyone must address during the course of their lifetime is their own death or the death of a loved one. Oftentimes the task is made even more difficult because decisions about the service are left unaddressed, leaving families to plan a funeral or memorial service without knowing just what the decedent would have wanted.
St. Paul’s has a Funeral Planning Guide that starts this important conversation. This guide encourages everyone—even those in the prime of their lives—to think about and record what their wishes for a funeral service would be: for example, type of service, favorite Scripture or hymns, and whether or not Holy Communion is to be celebrated. Once completed, one copy of the Funeral Planning Guide should stay with the person’s important papers, and a second copy should be filed at the church.
If you would like a copy of the Funeral Planning Guide, please contact Joy Belew in the Church office (202-966-5489) or email Pastor Andrea (awalker@stpaulslutherandc.com).
